| Requirements and Responsibilities For Provider Contracting Manager |
| Manages contracting activities for a healthcare provider network. Responsible for managing facility rate setting and contract development for hospitals and health systems within a provider network. Prepares, analyzes, and reviews complex financial models to project the cost impact of proposed contract terms, rate structures, and reimbursement methodologies. Negotiates, drafts, and executes individual contracts with hospitals and health systems, ensuring terms are financially sound and operationally feasible. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
