| Requirements and Responsibilities For Food Safety Supervisor |
| Supervises and coordinates daily food safety operations to ensure compliance with food safety standards, policies, and regulations. Oversees sanitation programs, product testing, and inspection schedules to maintain product integrity and prevent contamination. Trains and mentors staff on food safety and quality assurance protocols and safe handling procedures. Investigates food safety incidents and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborates with other departments, such as production and quality assurance, to maintain a safe and compliant facility environment. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Typically reports to a manager. Supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. |
