| Requirements and Responsibilities For Mechanical Product Engineering Senior Manager |
| Manages the design and development of mechanical industrial products, components, and systems to meet required specifications and standards. Oversees the analysis of product requirements, objectives, and constraints and reviews technical and functional specifications for mechanical products. Provides technical guidance and recommendations for complex design modifications. Manages the entire product lifecycle from gathering requirements, forecasting costs, and scheduling timelines to ensure solutions meet the outlined specifications and manufacturing cost requirements. Reviews and enhances CAD models and drawings to develop innovative mechanical manufacturing parts or components. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand existing and future needs to research and plan potential new products. Designs guidelines and processes to conduct simulations and prototype testing to ensure the integrity of results and consistency of testing. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. |
