Requirements and Responsibilities For Underwriter (P/C) I
Analyzes and reviews inspection reports, location, risk, credit reports, etc. to accept or reject renewal/new property and casualty policy applications. Decides on appropriate premium rates and issues coverage. Provides customer services regarding underwriting processes and decisions. May communicate with field agents to gather additional information or to explain underwriting decisions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.
